Mexico is currently in a crisis because of the ongoing war between cartels and the government.

Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, also known as El Mencho, was the leader of the famous cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG). He was the most wanted narco-boss in the region. Also, he was famous for cocaine and fentanyl smuggling in the USA. A reward of 15 million dollars was offered for his arrest.

Army found his location, so they acted quickly. They found him on 22. february 2026. in Western Mexico, and they killed him. Immediately after his death, riots and violence broke out in Jalisco.

There is a mess going on in the streets, and there is a literal war going on between goverment and cartels.

Army and police forces are moving their troops to the “front lines” to face the enemy.

The government is calling civilians to stay at their homes till thing settle down.

His death is a major blow to the CJNG, one of Mexico’s fastest-growing and most dangerous cartels. But analysts warn it could spark a succession battle and further violence in the coming weeks.
